Starting the sprinklers!

John has been working in our backyard, super hard, getting our sprinkler system in! John used a.....I am sure I am going to spell this wrong.....Ditchwitch to burrow trenches in the ground for the pipes. Here they are getting it unloaded from the truck.

It's a little scary looking, but super fun to watch do it's thang!

The King of the Backyard Project!!!

After he trenched with the machine, he still had to shovel out a bunch of dirt to get everything just right. In fact, he "narrowed down" our shovel because it was too wide!

Here is John working in the front. He was more worried about doing it out here because of the gas lines!

For those of us who were kids in the 80's.....remember DigDug? Our yard looked like that!

After John got the pipes in he filled the trenches with some dirt, then water, let it soak through, then more dirt and compacted it all down. It's been a HUGE project for him, but he ROCKS, as always!

Jacob's 15-month appointment

Hi All!

Jacob had his 15-month appointment last Wednesday. He did really well! He had 2 vaccinations and they checked his blood (with a foot prick) for anemia. He is doing great!

He now weighs 22 lbs. and 7 oz, is 31 & 3/4" long and his melon has grown, 2/8" to 20 1/8"! Wow!!!

We just wanted to let you know that all is going well with Jacob :-)

4th of July Parade VIDEO!

Justin was asked if he would like to be on the "float" for CATT (Construction Association of Truckee-Tahoe) in the parade, and Justin was excited to do so! We tried to get some video of him this morning; he had a blast and it was so much fun to see him in the parade!

4th of July Parade Pictures!

Today John, Dyan, Jacob and I went to the 4th of July Parade in town, not only to go, but to see Jus' parade debut! CATT asked him if he'd like to be on their "float" and he did it! Here are some shots of some of the things we saw!

Having fun with the Life Flight Helicopter....

Walking with Daddy! He is getting used to walking with shoes....and pavement!

This man was with a Chimney Sweep Company!

Dyan and I.

Jacob wasn't too happy being on John's shoulders, but he looks happy here!

Smokey the Bear!

We had Fire Departments not only from our town of Truckee, but Squaw Valley and Northstar.

This was an old fire truck that was spraying water! It looks like you are about to get nailed with a ton of water, but it just kind of dispersed into a mist. It was cool!

What is a Truckee Parade without an "army" of marching skiiers carrying their skiis?

Lots of local companies had floats!

Lots of old cars and trucks too!

Happy Birthday U.S.A.!!!

This is actually an ambulance leaving the fire department...our spot was right in front of the fire department and they had to get us to make a path so they could leave...they got a call!

A jail on wheels!!!

While downtown we ran into Bob and Linda. We were at the "starting line" while they were at the "finish line". When we went to the finish line to get Justin, that is where we bumped into them...and a nice lady and her horse!

Jacob WALKS!!!!!!

Jacob has walked a step here or there, but that is about it. Today, with his brother using his remote control car as bait, Jacob totally walked! We're in trouble now!!!!!

It's Been a Busy Week!

Sunday we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant, Casa Baeza, for dinner. Jacob loves his beans!

Mmmmm!
He decided to try and see what it was like being our cat, Shyla.
Meow.....
John finished the gate yesterday as well. He's been working so hard on getting the fence and gates done!

We couldn't resist getting some video of Jacob eating his beans at Casa!

Relaxing Saturday Fun!!!

Jacob really loves avocados and I couldn't resist trying to get some shots of my little green faced man!!!

Yummy!!!

John put up this pool type play thing we got from Grandma Linda. It sprays water through holes like a little sprinkler thing...the water was freezing (since it comes straight from the hose) so Jacob wasn't too thrilled with playing in it, but he liked playing with it!

Stacking the rings is FUN!

Let's make them into a hat!

Cheese! Having fun laughing while Daddy splashes at me!

Hee!
